Mr. Lehr\u2019s piece coincides with arguments made by the Black Justice League at Princeton University. The Black Justice League is seeking to remove Woodrow Wilson\u2019s name from the School of Public and International Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Resistance to Syrian Refugees Calls to Mind Painful Past for Japanese-Americans<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/11\/27\/us\/for-japanese-americans-resistance-to-syrian-refugees-recalls-long-ago-fears.html?_r=0\">The New York Times<\/a> <\/em>profiled Ms. Yuka Fujikura, whose father was detained by authorities following the Pearl Harbor attack. Ms. Fujikura said that recent rhetoric toward Syrian refugees reminded her of the mistreatment of Japanese Americans during World War II.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago Protests over Laquan McDonald&#8217;s Killing<\/p>\n<p>Over <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/news\/local\/breaking\/ct-laquan-mcdonald-black-friday-protest-met-20151127-story.html\">1,000 protesters<\/a> in Chicago sought to shut down the Magnificent Mile during Black Friday shopping. The protest occurred following the release of a video that showed 17-year-old Laquan McDonald being shot 16 times by a police officer.<\/p>\n<p>New Study Looks at the Brain\u00a0When Impoverished<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/business\/archive\/2013\/11\/your-brain-on-poverty-why-poor-people-seem-to-make-bad-decisions\/281780\/\">The Atlantic<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>looked at a recent study in <em>Science<\/em>, which concluded that poverty harms peoples ability to make decisions about school, finances, and life. The author of the study concluded, \u201cAll the data shows it isn&#8217;t about poor people, it\u2019s about people who\u00a0<em>happen to be in poverty<\/em>.
