Gabriella A. Mestre and Olivia Casey Schwartz served as the Editors-in-Chief of the Harvard Business Law Review<\/em> from 2025 – 2026. Their tenure marks the first time in HBLR<\/em> history that two women served as Editors-in-Chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriella A. Mestre earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2026 graduating cum laude<\/em> after graduating from Harvard College in 2023 with degrees in\u00a0 Economics and Government. She graduated magna cum laude<\/em> from Harvard College and received the prestigious John Harvard Award, awarded to students in the top 5% of the graduating class. While at Harvard College, she also completed a senior thesis in Law & Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Miami, Florida, she is the proud daughter of Cuban immigrants who came to the United States on a raft while fleeing Cuba\u2019s repressive Communist regime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Harvard Law School, she dedicated much of her time to HBLR<\/em> while also pursuing a broad range of academic and extracurricular interests. She participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic, where she worked with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office on matters involving child exploitation and child trafficking, her work in this field ultimately earning her the Dean\u2019s Scholar prize in Child Advocacy. She remains passionate about children\u2019s rights advocacy and hopes to continue that work throughout her legal career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was also elected Class Marshal for the Harvard Law School Class of 2026, helping lead the planning of Commencement, Class Day, Barristers\u2019 Ball, and other major class events. In addition, she served as Social Chair of La Alianza and Treasurer of the Florida Club. She was also selected as a Teaching Fellow for Professor Greiner\u2019s 1L Civil Procedure course, where she mentored and supported more than 160 first-year law students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following graduation, Gabriella will join the Corporate Transactional group at Kirkland and Ellis\u2019s Miami office after spending two summers with the firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olivia Casey Schwartz earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and holds a B.A. in Political Science and an A.A. in Jewish Studies from Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Englewood, New Jersey, she has a diverse professional background spanning finance, emerald dealing, marketing, and education, in addition to her service in the Israeli Defense Forces. As a student-athlete at Yeshiva University, Olivia competed on the NCAA cross-country team.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Harvard Law School, Olivia\u2019s academic work was published in the Harvard Business Law Review<\/em>, and she held leadership positions across various student organizations and journals. She worked on the Israeli Civil Commission on October 7 Crimes by Hamas Against Women and Children and was honored with the Dahan Fellowship for Jewish Leadership from Harvard Chabad.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olivia spent her 1L summer providing legal assistance to domestic abuse victims seeking divorces at the Organization for the Resolution of Agunot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following graduation, Olivia will join the corporate department at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, New York, where she previously summered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
