Guidelines for submitting to the Print Journal are located <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.law.harvard.edu\/hrj\/about\/submissions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<strong>ONLINE SUBMISSIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harvard Human Rights Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reviews and publishes Online Journal submissions on a rolling basis. The Online Journal publishes a variety of different types of content. Guidelines for submissions to the Print Journal are located<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.law.harvard.edu\/hrj\/about\/submissions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Please email Submissions.HHRJ@mail.law.harvard.edu with any questions.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please review previous Online Journal postings to better understand the quality and type of submissions we generally accept. While Online Journal pieces are shorter in length than most Print Journal pieces, HHRJ expects a similar level of quality in terms of structure\/organization, logic, claim substantiation, and originality.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subject Matter<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: All submissions should address contemporary human rights issues.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comments<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> should give commentary on recent U.S. or International court cases or legislative developments.<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comments should provide any necessary background, an in-depth summary of the case or legislative development, and a discussion section which advances an original argument.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For examples of previous comments, please see:<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.law.harvard.edu\/hrj\/2020\/12\/case-comment-atamanchuk-v-russia-application-no-4493-11\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Case Comment: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Atamanchuk v. underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blog Posts<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> should discuss or evaluate an issue.<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although they may still make reference to cases or legislative developments, Blog Posts provide a more flexible format and may take the form of discussions on current events, academic evaluations of human rights issues, or comparative analyses, for example.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blog Posts should advance an original argument and If edited for length, interview submissions should separately include the raw transcript of the interview, either in written or audio format.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Book Reviews<\/span>:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 700\u20131,500 words.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Language<\/span><\/em><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Although we recognize that human rights is an international field, we only publish pieces in English.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Citation Format<\/span>:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> All assertions should be cited. We strongly prefer submissions that use footnotes rather than endnotes and that comply with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (21st ed. 2020).<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Instructions:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We ask that all Online Journal submissions be submitted via email and in Microsoft Word format. Submissions should be emailed as attachments to Submissions.HHRJ@mail.law.harvard.edu, with &#8220;Online Submission \u2013 [Last Name]&#8221; in the subject line, along with a CV or resume.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Review Process: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions are reviewed and accepted year-round on a rolling basis. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to accommodate requests to confirm receipt or respond to inquiries about the status of a submission. We kindly ask that authors <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> send emails inquiring into the status of their submissions.
