Davis. PK Music asserts that the two songs share similar hooks and melodies. The complaint states that, \u201ca substantial part of the drum, conga drum, organ, bass guitar, electric quitter, and saxophone parts of \u2018Damn Girl\u2019 were all copied from \u2018A New Day is Here at Last.\u2019\u201d Ultimately, the plaintiff claims that the two songs are strikingly similar. If the plaintiff can prove the songs are indeed strikingly similar, then the court may infer Timberlake had access to the song, even if the plaintiff has not presented evidence showing access.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/thr-esq\/justin-timberlake-william-facing-copyright-866877\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, PK Music seeks damages and an injunction to stop Timberlake and Will.i.am from continuing to copy, distribute, and perform \u201cDamn Girl.\u201d The suit follows close on the heels of the controversial \u201cBlurred Lines\u201d case, involving Robin Thicke and Marvin Gaye\u2019s heirs.
