since the jury found that Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams\u2019 hit, \u201cBlurred Lines,\u201d infringed on the copyright to Marvin Gaye&#8217;s, \u201cGot to Give it Up.\u201d\u00a0 The Gaye estate is now seeking an additional $3.5 million in attorney fees.\u00a0 Included in that number is the cost of hiring three musicologists before the Gaye estate\u2019s attorneys settled on Judith Finell.\u00a0 One of the musicologists, whose fees the estate is seeking, is Gerard Eskelin, who reported that he did not find substantial similarity in the two songs.\u00a0 Another, Dr. Lawrence Ferrara, was also asked to submit a report but Gaye\u2019s attorneys sequestered Dr. Ferrara\u2019s report before it was made available.\u00a0 There are several musicologists and attorneys who think the jury got it wrong in this case.\u00a0 They are\u00a0hoping for Thicke and Williams to appeal in order to avoid, what they see as, possible\u00a0negative\u00a0repercussions in future copyright
