This article presents empirical and narrative reporting from 88 families’ cases across nine Dedicated Docket hearings in the North Los Angeles immigration court. Kuckertz documents the specific barriers that families encounter on the docket and echoes advocates’ calls to terminate the Dedicated Docket and prevent the creation of similar expediting structures.
