
Ania Zolyniak

Ania Zolyniak is a 3L from Searingtown, NY, who graduated from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2021. Before law school, she worked at the National Academies of Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations. As a law student, she has been involved with First Class, the National Security & Law Association, Lawfare, and the Irregular Warfare Initiative at Westpoint’s Modern War Institute.

Kristle Hinola

Kristle Hinola is a 3L from Beaumont, TX. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and after graduating, enlisted in the U.S. Army where she served for three years as a combat medic. On campus, she is also active in the Armed Forces Association, Service to School mentorship program, and the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. After graduation, Kristle will join Steptoe LLP in Washington, D.C., where she will focus on international trade and regulatory matters.

Nico Moscoso
Editor in Chief
Nico is a 3L from Virginia Beach, VA. He worked at the Manhattan DA’s office before law school, and, in the national security arena, is particularly interested in the allocation and separation of powers over U.S. foreign relations. Outside of the classroom, he is a member of the HLS softball team, is an avid Yankees fan, and enjoys reading fiction and fantasy novels.

Haylee Levin

Haylee Levin is a 3L from South Florida. She graduated cum laude from Duke University in 2016 with a B.A. in International Comparative Studies, focusing on Russia and Central Asia, and earned an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 2018 focused on International Security. Prior to law school, Haylee worked in various roles with the U.S. federal government. In addition to the National Security Journal, Haylee serves as Co-President of the National Security & Law Association, Co-President of the Harvard Mediation Program, and Co-Chair of the Women’s Law Association’s Washington, D.C. Trip.

Pete Worrall
Executive Submissions Editor
Pete Worrall is a 3L from Spokane, Washington, and is a member of the U.S. Army’s Funded Legal Education Program (FLEP). On campus, he is also involved with the Harvard National Security & Law Association (NSLA), the Armed Forces Association (AFA), and the Federalist Society. Prior to law school, he served as a field artillery officer in both conventional and special operations forces. Pete earned his B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2018.

Sonia Mahajan

Sonia Mahajan is a 3L from San Francisco, California interested in national security issues at the intersection of criminal procedure, technology law, and democracy law. Prior to law school, Sonia worked at a nonprofit researching gender bias in the workplace. On campus, she also serves on the board of the Harvard Women’s Law Association and is a staff editor for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology. After graduation, Sonia will pursue a career in litigation & investigations at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, DC.

Carlee Goldberg

Carlee Goldberg is a 2L from Parkland, FL. On campus, she is an Executive Submissions Editor for the Journal on Legislation and the Vice President of Careers for the National Security & Law Association. During her 1L summer, she worked with Senator Blumenthal’s Senate Judiciary Committee Counsel. Prior to law school, she worked as a special assistant at the U.S. Department of Commerce. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Duke University in 2022 and a Master’s degree in Social Policy from the University of Oxford in 2023.

Daniel Freedline

Daniel Freedline is a J.D. candidate at Harvard Law School, where he serves as a Deputy Executive Editor on the Harvard National Security Journal and a Deputy Managing Editor of Per Curiam on the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. His academic interests center on presidential power, foreign affairs, and the legal dimensions of national security and counterterrorism. Before law school, Daniel graduated from Yale University and worked on issues at the intersection of international security and public policy. Following graduation, he will clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

William Yee
Deputy Executive Editor
William is a 2L from Northridge, California. Before law school, he worked at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. He earned his B.A. from Columbia University and M.A. from Sciences Po Paris as a Michel David-Weill Scholar. In his free time, he enjoys creative writing, playing tennis, and discovering new places one meal at a time.

Ben Press
Deputy Executive Submissions Editor
Ben Press is a Deputy Executive Submissions Editor with the NSJ. A second-year law student from Vienna, VA, Ben came to HLS after spending four years in Washington, D.C. working on national security-related issues. He served most recently as a foreign affairs advisor to Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and previously had roles at the National Democratic Institute and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He is a 2020 graduate of Princeton University, where he earned an A.B. in History.

Paul Cederoth

Paul is a 2L currently serving as a Deputy Executive Submissions Editor for the NSJ. Prior to law school, he worked in Washington, D.C. in federal consulting for 2 years, supporting an agency in the Department of Defense. Paul holds a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Virginia and will be joining a law firm in New York after law school.

Will Johnson

Will Johnson is a 2L at Harvard Law School and serves as a Deputy Executive Submissions Editor for the NSJ. He spent his 1L summer in the Legal Division of the Nuclear Energy Institute in Washington, D.C., focusing on regulatory and policy issues surrounding advanced nuclear energy. Before law school, he served as an Army engineer officer in Europe. His interests include national security, nuclear energy, and the intersection of law, technology, and defense innovation.
