This article provides an account of the life and legacy of Graciela Gil Olivarez, often called “Amazing Grace.” This article brings Graciela Olivarez into the present through archival research, interviews, and analyses. She was the country’s first Latina law professor and became known for her tireless activism and advocacy for the human and civil rights of the impoverished, including farmworkers and their families, migrant and rural communities, Latino/as, and other people and particularly women of color.
