Joseph “Joey” Ravenna IV & Savannah Grace Huitema
Joey Ravenna and Savannah Huitema served as the presidents and editors-in-chief of the Harvard Business Law Review from 2024 to 2025. They oversaw significant expansion of the Review, proposing the unanimously adopted “Crossing-the-Charles” constitutional amendment that opened the Review to Harvard Business School students, hosting the Symposium on the First Restatement of Consumer Contracts, and reviving and hosting the 63rd Williston Negotiation & Contract Drafting Competition at Harvard Law School.
Joey Ravenna pursued his J.D. at Harvard Law School and M.B.A. at Harvard Business School, after earning his undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Originally from Laguna Beach, California, he brought a civil service background to Harvard, having advised on economic policy at his hometown city hall and led a new export promotion team at the U.S. Department of Commerce. At Harvard, he focused on the intersection of markets and regulation—conducting research as a John M. Olin Fellow in Law & Economics and a research assistant at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and summering in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement and Cravath, Swaine & Moore’s private equity group. He served as president of the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project, providing over 1,000 hours of pro bono legal service to student founders, and sat on the board of the Harvard-MIT Cooperative Society, where he chaired its newly formed real estate committee. Joey remains focused on improving access and efficiency in tightly regulated markets—a commitment he continues to pursue through finance, law, and academia.
Savannah Huitema received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. in political theory from the James Madison College at Michigan State University. Originally from Portage, Michigan, Savannah worked in international fashion before coming to Harvard, while also serving in the office of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. She is a published author, with works in the Harvard Independent and The Fashion Law. At Harvard, she was a teaching fellow for several courses, including Professor Michael Sandel’s Justice and the Fashion Law Lab. Having summered in Cravath, Swaine & Moore’s mergers and acquisitions group, she will be representing creatives and cultural institutions in complex legal matters involving art, commerce, and emerging technologies at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan after her time at Harvard Law School.
