Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe Calls for Zero Tolerance for Human Rights Violations

At the end of a special debate on human rights and democracy on the continent, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe denounced “the gap between standards on paper and the reality on the ground” in a resolution and recommendation calling for a zero tolerance policy towards human rights violations. The resolution also called for rewards for outstanding civil society defenses of human rights.
